Robertson artwork in Japan

Darryl Robertson sculpture selected to be exhibited in Toyamura Sculpture Biennale Hokkaido ,Japan.

The sculptural artwork by Nelson ,New Zealand ,artist Darryl Robertson has been selected to be part of the of the
Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale in Hokkaido Japan this September 2007.

Just 58 artists worldwide were selected for exhibition from 450  artists who applied from 46 countries.

"It's a very small number selected from all over the globe so its nice to be involved in Toyamura Biennale in 2007
with so many fine artists from so many countries.Robertson said." 

The exhibition has the title "Universe In the Palm Of Our Hand" selected artists from around the world to be part of the show.

"Volcanic Upthrust Dream" is made from white clay, iron clay, porcelain and brass. It is hand worked, glazed in matt finished ceramic glazes and fires to high temperature in a kiln.

Robertson is no stranger to Japan having visited Japan twice,exhibiting in his own large shows three times and in international group shows as well. Lecturing and giving slide shows.Also winning two awards for his artwork.

"It very special to be selected in this exhibition with great artists from Japan and around the world. I have many friends and artists in Japan and they will be very happy to know the work will be in the Biennale." Darryl said.
