Ceramic art with hand painted matt glaze artwork. 450mm across.
Awarded a Design Prize at the Kutani
International Ceramic Designers Exhibition,Ishikawa Japan, in 1997.
also a work commissioned by the ex Prime Minister of New Zealand,Jenny Shipley, to produce this artwork as a state gift from New Zealand to the Emperor of Japan.
Earlier a major commissioned installation work 11 peices ,each major piece 1100 mm across , based on this concept is held in the National Museum of New Zealand, "Te Papa" collection in Wellington.This work along with a major New Zealand exhibition "Treasures Of The Underworld " toured to Seville World Expo Spain ,later to Holland with exhibition patron Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, then on return, toured New Zealand for 2 years.
A similar single work was commissioned for the New Zealand High Commission Buildings in Manila, Philippines.
